The new Bloomberg report says that Nintendo will be using an upgraded Nvidia chip for the new Switch. With the new chip comes more memory, and a better CPU. This goes to explain, to a certain extent, its 4K output ability. But most impressively, the new chip will also make the handheld console hybrid capable of using Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).
Unfortunately, the improved performance will also lead to a higher price. Bloomberg predicts that the price of the new Nintendo Switch will go up accordingly. The new price could go up as high at US$399 (~RM1644). Which could mean a local price of RM1699 or higher. The previous report stated that Samsung will only start producing the OLED displays used by the new Nintendo Switch in June. This likely translates to a year-end release for the US. But it remains to be seen if we will see it arrive on our shores at around the same time, the way we did the Switch Lite, and the improved base model with better battery life. (Source: Bloomberg)
