In an interview with EW, John Krasinski talked about how he didn’t want to do a sequel, but eventually convinced himself to do it when he began writing the script. Krasinski’s wife, the talented Emily Blunt who stars in both the original and the sequel, was convinced of Part II by Krasinski’s vision of a one-take shot showing the alien invasion, which we see in the trailer. The A Quiet Place Part II star said: “it became very apparent that we’d be idiots not to do it. Ultimately, you will never catch the [same] lightning in the film, but there is a bigger world.” Krasinski also talked about the world that he has created and how it’s possible to put any hero or villain in it.
