The rumour first came to light when prominent leakster Greymon55 (@greymon55) tweeted the possibility of a Navi 2X refresh but more importantly, it would be based on a slightly thinner 6nm die lithography. As for the part regarding the limited capacity, the leakster says suggest that the alleged Navi 2X GPUs could end up being relegated to the mid-range and entry-level Radeon lineup. Specifically, a Radeon RX 7600XT or 7500XT, but do note that these model names are unofficial and as it stands, it is unlikely that any word about said GPUs are going to surface anytime soon. Greymon55 also goes on to say in a string of tweets that AMD’s next big GPU architecture, RDNA3, will only be accessible to Navi 31 to Navi 33 GPUs. There are also rumours regarding about RDNA4, although very little is known about the GPU architecture, save for the fact that it is expected to showcase a use between MCM-based and current generation GPUs.

However, if this rumour does come to pass, it most certainly wouldn’t be the first time AMD has done it. For years, after the launch of its mid-range Polaris GPU in 2016, AMD recycled the 14nm GPU for several years and rebranding it as the RX 500 series and RX 600 series.
