The iPad Air sports an ultra-thin, 10.5-inch form factor, and is powered by Apple’s A12 Bionic chip and AI-driven Neural Engine. Like previous Apple iPads, the display of the iPad Air is a Retina display with True Tone technology. By comparison, the new display is almost 20% larger than its predecessor and even comes with half a million more pixels packed into the display. For connectivity, the iPad Air comes with the Wi-Fi and Gigabit-class LTE antenna as Apple’s iPad Pro. Further, the tablet also comes with eSIM support technology built-in, making it theoretically compatible with wireless data packages in more than 180 countries around the world. The new iPad Air is also compatible with the Apple Pencil. Although, it should be noted that only the first generation Apple Pencil seems to be compatible with the new tablet. The new iPad Air will be available in three colour options; silver, space gray, and gold. It will also come in two storage configurations, which is 64GB and 256GB. Pricing for the iPad Air for now is listed as US$499 (~RM2032) for the model with just Wi-Fi, and US$629 (~RM2562) for the model with Wi-Fi and mobile SIM card support.
Do note that we will be posting the official Malaysian pricing in a separate article shortly, so keep an eye out for that.
