In case you missed our previous report, the Ultra is essentially the most rugged Apple Watch to date. Featuring a 49mm case which was made from aerospace-grade aluminium, the smartwatch has also been equipped with a flat sapphire crystal to protect its Retina display that has double the maximum brightness level of the Apple Watch Series 8. [Image: Apple.][Image: Apple.]Aside from having a larger physical presence, you can easily recognise Ultra by its protruding side button. Together with a larger Digital Crown, this was done to provide easier access to them even while users are wearing gloves. In addition to that, Apple also has added the new Action button on the lower left side of the Ultra. This button can be customised for certain functions including instantly starting a workout, transitioning to a different part of a Multisport workout, marking a Compass Waypoints, and many more. [Image: Apple.][Image: Apple.]The IP6X and MIL-STD 810H wearable has also been designed to withstand a much higher water depth at 100m. It can also be used for recreational diving up to the depth of 40m and comes complete with its own diving app called Depth. For divers that require more in-depth (heh) data, they could also opt for the Oceanic+ app that was developed through a collaboration with Huish Outdoor. Furthermore, the Ultra has been designed to withstand operating temperatures of -20C to 55C. [Image: Apple.]Similar to the lower-end Series 8 and second-generation SE as well as all four devices within the iPhone 14 family, the Ultra also features the new Crash Detection feature. Battery-wise, Apple claimed that the new model can last up to 36 hours during normal usage which can be extended further to 60 hours through a new low-power mode that will be rolled out later this year. Available immediately for purchase via Apple Malaysia’s online store and selected Apple Authorised Resellers, the Apple Watch Ultra only has one price tag which is RM3,799. This is regardless of whether you choose Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, or Ocean Band to go with it.
