The RS 2 weighs at 1.3kg and is able to support camera rigs of up to 4.5kg. It features the company’s improved Titan Stabilisation Algorithm that optimises its tilt and angle when shooting and a new SuperSmooth mode is also available for added camera stability. The device can also be attached and used with other systems such as jibs, car attachments or sliders, and there’s two RSA ports that also double as NATO ports for mounting accessories and attachments.

The new gimbal comes with a built-in 1.4-inch colour touchscreen that displays camera data, gimbal settings and even live feed from the attached shooter. In addition, the display can also be used to initiate key functions such as ActiveTrack and other intelligent shooting modes. The battery on the DJI RS 2 is claimed to be able to last up to 12 hours on a full charge, and features fast-charging support which is able to top up to 2 hours of battery life within 15 minutes.

Next up is the DJI RSC 2, which is designed to be compatible with smaller cameras and is also highly portable. It weighs in at 1.2kg and is able to support a payload of up to 3kg. This gimbal features a new folding mechanism that resizes it to 180x190mm, which DJI says is equivalent to a sheet of A5 paper. The RSC 2’s folding mechanism also allows it to be used in the new Briefcase mode, where the main gimbal arm can be loosened and slung forward to provide lower shooting angles.

The gimbal shares the same Titan Stabilisation Algorithm and battery life as the RS 2, as well as the fast charging support. The RSC 2 features a smaller built-in 1-inch OLED screen for displaying camera and and gimbal settings. Both the DJI RS 2 and RSC 2 features the RavenEye Image Transmission System which allows them to send a 1080p 30fps video feed to the Ronin mobile app from up to 200 meters away. The app can also be used to remotely control several of the gimbals’ features. Features that the duo share are Time Tunnel Movement and Portrait Mode, among many others.

Both gimbals are available today, with the RS 2 priced at US$849 and the RSC 2 at US$499. Drone DJI Shop, the local authorised DJI retailer lists both devices as readily available for orders. According to the shop, the DJI RS 2 retails at RM3,299 while the RSC 2 is at RM1,699. Pro Combo bundles for both gimbals are also available for purchase. (Source: DJI / Drone DJI Shop [1] [2])
