To start, you can set your own Facebook-using schedule with Your Time on Facebook. Then you set when you want Quiet Mode to be active. When it is on, Quiet Mode mutes all notifications. When you try to launch the app during this time, it also reminds you that you’ve set this time to not be on Facebook yourself. That said, you still have the option to cheat your own schedule for 15 minutes.
Quiet Mode itself is an option within Your Time on Facebook, which was added back in 2018. This was added not only to help you keep track of the time you spend on the social media platform. It is also supposed to help you stop scrolling when you spend too much time there. If you find that it’s not forceful enough to help kick your scrolling addiction, then Quiet Mode is there to help you enforce it. The announcement of Quiet Mode came in as part of the company’s update on its effort in helping to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, there’s no mention as to when this feature will be available to everyone. That being said, reports indicate that the feature will complete its iOS rollout in May, while Android users will get it by June. (Source: Facebook. Image: Engadget)
