The Logic reports that Huawei is currently researching 6G at its R&D centre in Ottawa, Canada. It’s not tech that will be making its way into the consumer market anytime soon, considering 5G is still about two years away. At any rate, the company expects 6G to only be a thing around 2030.
Of course, Huawei not alone when it comes to 6G research. Samsung has also begun research on the wireless tech, with its research centre launched two months ago. The research centre in question will also be involved in AI and robotics development. As mentioned, though, 6G shouldn’t be something we need to worry about just yet. It won’t be too late to start thinking about it once 5G actually comes along. That said, Huawei and the US will have to sort out the situation between them if the latter is going to be making use of the former’s 6G tech a decade later. (Source: The Logic via CNET)
