This year will see the release of the first Fast & Furious spinoff film, Hobbs & Shaw. The film centres around Agent Luke Hobbs and former villain/Han-killer Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) who must work together to save the world from — wait for it — Black Superman (Idris Elba). The film is helmed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) so expect high octane, non-stop, crazy action sequences. Expect also, Keanu Reeves, apparently. According to That Hashtag Show, Keanu Reeves reportedly has a role to play in Hobbs & Shaw. Not much has been revealed about Reeves’ role in the film, but it’s assumed that he will play a small role in this film that sets up a return in potential sequels. Some speculate that Reeves could even appear in a post-credits scene of sorts. Don’t expect Reeves to have a major fight sequence with The Rock or Jason Statham just yet. Note that this news should be taken with a grain of salt as we have not gotten confirmation from any of the representatives at Universal. Hobbs & Shaw official synopsis: Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.
