The idea is a familiar one, and actually quite similar to what the Selangor government is doing with Grab. Vendors sign up to for and host their Ramadan fare on the Nak Makan website. Customers can then order from there, and have the food delivered from the vendor’s premises to the customers. MyEG says that hosting the Ramadan e-bazaar is only the first phase for Nak Makan, though.
Beyond the Ramadan e-bazaars, Nak Makan will also have initiatives like e-Sahur and e-Raya. The former is essentially the same as the Ramadan e-bazaar, but for pre-dawn meals during the fasting month. As for the latter, think of it as your usual online shopping experience, but with a distinct Hari Raya flavour. These will come as the second and third phase, respectively. The MyEG Nak Makan Ramadan e-bazaar is currently open for registrations to vendors in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor. The company did not say when customers can start buying from it. But based on the vendor registration form, it looks like you’ll be able to start getting food from the site starting 23 April 2020. this should coincide with the first day of fasting later this month.
