Both postpaid and prepaid customers can obtain the data from 8 AM to 6 PM on a daily basis. While this new provision sounds exactly like the current arrangement that telcos have provided to consumers since 1 April, but the scope of this new 1GB free data offering is limited to services that are related to learning and productivity.
According to the media note that was jointly released by local telcos including Celcom, Digi, Maxis, Time, TM, U Mobile, and Yes, consumers will also be able to utilize free unlimited access for Microsoft Office 365 applications and Zoom video conference service. E-learning courses from Classruum, Udemy, and SunagoLearn will also be made available for free. Additionally, the telcos will also continue to provide free data access to major news sources as well as the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization’s official website. The same will also apply for the usages of Gerak Malaysia, MySejahtera, and MyTrace apps.
