Pocket-lint also found a US FCC filing that was granted to IKEA earlier in the month. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really show much of the product, or things like operating details and user manuals. But it is called the IKEA FHO-E1913, and is labelled as a wireless device.
The nature of the IKEA Sonos Symfonisk product itself remains unknown. On one hand, Pocket-lint says it could be an update to the existing speaker lamp. But on the other, The Verge claims that this could be something new, and specifically mentions wall art with an integrated speaker. The outlet also claims to have seen an early image of this, but did not have details on the way it works exactly. At any rate, with the FCC filing being granted so recently, it could be awhile before both companies officially announce the new Symfonisk product. Judging from the previous items in the series, it’s bound to cost a pretty penny. And the existing models haven’t made their way here either. So the chances of the new thing coming here is pretty slim too. (Source: Sonos / Instagram, US FCC via Pocket-lint, The Verge)
